Coverciano Football Museum

The idea of creating the Football Museum was born during the expansion of the Federal Technical Center for the 1990 FIFA World Cup, initiated by Fino Fini . Ten years after Italia ’90, the Museum was inaugurated on May 22, 2000, in the presence of the then Minister of Cultural Heritage, Giovanna Melandri, and the highest federal and civil authorities. The idea behind the Foundation is not only to tell the story of the Italian national team and the FIGC , but above all the belief that football and sport play a key role in the development of society and the individual: football, thanks to its universal language, is a vehicle of fundamental values such as solidarity, sacrifice, altruism, generosity, and justice, and is a key tool for integration and overcoming any barrier, be it linguistic or cultural. This identity is reflected daily through the narratives our guides offer visitors throughout the museum’s exhibitions and through educational initiatives, especially aimed at younger visitors. The museum also houses a historical football documentation center, which features a rich collection of texts and documents available for consultation on-site, as well as a multimedia database with images and videos.
Buses leave on Friday June 5th at 4:00pm and return to the venue at 6:15pm. Travel time to and from the venue is approximately 20 minutes. Must sign up in advance with parent permission. One volunteer for every 5 children will be joining.
